I have been so unbelievably busy the last week, this has been so hard to get to. Anyways, here are some posts to get us all caught up.
This story relates to my life currently and something that Tami did as a kid.
The last few weeks I have been playing in a women's volleyball league, and I like to think that Tami has been watching. The only volleyball shoes that I have were hers from high school, so I wear them, and she probably thinks that I am silly for wearing them, but I think they are good luck. Well, they used to be anyway. This past Monday at my game we were short a player, so I asked Sarah if she wanted to come play and she jumped at the opportunity, which was lucky for me, because later that night, I would need her nursing skills at the game. In the middle of our second game, being the competitive person I am, I dove for a ball. Somehow, I managed for my head to go up and then smack down onto the dirty gym floor. Immediately I put my hands to my chin and felt the openness of the cut. I had blood in my hands and we ran off the court to get a towel and apply pressure. Within a matter of a few minutes the bleeding had stopped, but the wound still needed to be closed up either with stitches, dermabond, or some crafty butterfly bandaging. I chose the least painful route, the butterfly bandages. Sarah drove me to Aunt Terri's house where we got the wound all cleaned up and closed up with some steri-strips. So, now I can only imagine that Tami is laughing at me as I work day and night at two different jobs where I come into contact with a lot of people, and I have bandaids on my face!
This reminded me of the time when we were all at strikers in Jenison when Tami was about 4. Mom was at the driving range, I was hitting in the batting cages, and Todd & Tami were playing putt putt. Sounds pretty normal, right? Well if you know Tami, you know that she didn't leave anything normal for long. Todd decided he was going to try and "teach" Tami how to putt and he was standing behind her to try and help her. At the same time Tami decided to go all Tiger Woods on the putt putt green and nailed Todd in her back swing. Tami had to run over to the driving range to get my mom. We then all had to go to the med center so that Todd could get stitches. He still has a very small scar right near his eye where he got hit in the eye with Tami's putter.
