Ever have that feeling where you know you need to get one last thing done but you just cannot find the time to do it? That was me this weekend. So, here are my updates to catch up.
5. When we were growing up we lived on a street in Wyoming called Lamar. We have many, many fond memories of the years that we spent there. It was really a great place for us to grow up. This memory dates all the way back to either my 8th or 9th birthday. The whole family was over, because that was what we did to celebrate back then. We were all having a grand ol' time and then it came time to unveil the cake. This year I had chosen a Pocahontas theme for my birthday cake, and I was so excited. Well, to fully appreciate the story, I need to back track a little and fill in some other parts of the day. Like I said, I was either turning 8 or 9 which meant Tami was like 4 or 5. Tami had this way about her, she was able to sneak off into other rooms of the house and quietly get into a ton of trouble. Well, this was no exception. I think it must have been while I was opening presents, Tami would just randomly slip out for a little bit at a time, she would wander back into the room and nobody thought twice. Well, back to the part about my cake making it's grand appearance. My mom went into the fridge to get my cake and light the candles and, surprise, there were pieces of Pocahontas' face missing, along with many other smudges in the frosting. So, while I was opening my presents, Tami was sneaking quick swipes of frosting off my cake. Tami always had a way of commanding the party, whether it was her party or not, she was able to effortlessly turn the spotlight onto her; another thing that I wish I could learn from her :)
