Day 1
One of the last memories I have of Tami is of her and I at the Britney Spears concert, August 17, 2011. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was so excited! I could not wait to get down there. We got tickets on groupon for 50% off! Talk about a great deal! Tami and I had such a great night, singing and dancing, and just being sisters. It was awesome. The only 2 things that would have made that night better would be if our other 2 sisters were there with us, and if Tam was old enough to go out after the concert with Courtney and I. Either way, Tami and I had a great time.
We went out to dinner before the concert at 25 Kitchen & Bar, then realizing how much time we had (I am perpetually early for everything) we decided to walk around downtown. The main goal was for Tami to find a store to buy a poster board at, she wanted to make a sign for Pauly D. I tried to convince her that there was not a store in downtown GR that would have poster board, but she was relentless. After walking around for like an hour we headed back to Van Andel. When we got there we went inside to cool off, it was August after all, and some power tripping worker told us we had to wait outside, behind the bricks. Stupid! Anyways, we waited and waited and finally it came time to go in.
I remember walking in and thinking that since we bought our tickets so late, and on groupon, that our seats were probably so far from the stage, and as the usher walked us to our seats Tami and I just kept looking at each other. We kept getting closer and closer to the stage and when he finally stopped, we were thrilled. 9 rows from the stage and practically center stage. The row that we were in was the first row in a section and so there was a walkway in front of us. We had SO much dancing room! It was honestly one of the best nights I ever had.
Anyways, first was a girl duo called Destinee & Paris, they were like Kesha clones, but they were cute. They had long blond hair and they were dressed all edgy. Tami and I decided that we wanted them to become cool between then and now, so that we could be them for Halloween. They were not all that bad when they were performing, but we just wanted to see Pauly & Britney, and we were still hoping that Nicki Minaj would make a surprise appearance, she is a fav of Tami and mine! Pauly D came out and really got the party started. Obviously he is not a musician, but he played some great music and mixed it up and got everybody ready for Britney. There was a 30 minute break and then she came out. She performed so many great songs, not only from her new cd but from her old ones too, the songs that we grew up with, the song that we named our cat after (Lucky). It was honestly so much fun.
Alright. It is about time for this girl to hit the sack. I am going to add a picture from the concert to go along with this memory :)
